REVIEWS:
Karan Johar’s anticipated multi starer Kalank is doing pretty well at the box office and has already earned 21.6 crores on its release day. However, it has received a mixed verdict from all.
It looks as if audiences were not so excited and thrilled about the multi starrer film and they described the movie by giving out their reviews in the best possible hilarious memes.
Weak and confusing characterizations are another element to talk about the film. Songs are fine which breaks the bareness of the film.
The movie came out as a full throated melodrama in which visual grandeur has taken over the plot line and looks like tiring and heart breaking. The movie is designed so much that it leaves a very little room for the characters to breathe.
Varun Dhawan is getting a lot of praise for his work and it looks like he is getting better with every film as he surpasses the expectations in the movie and so does Alia Bhatt. Sonakshi Sinha as Satya is effective in her character and Aditya Roy Kapoor is suitably detached to the character Dev who wonders where to start rebuilding his life. Sanjay Dutt has a small part yet he glows in silence and above all is Dhak Dhak Girl Madhuri Dixit playing Bahaar Begum with a perfect grace. The tear filled eyes flashes with defiance. The lady is a treat to watch and is a perfect enchantment.
Despite the scant attention paid to the character details, all the actors, especially supporting casts hold forth, adding heft to scenes wherever they can.
The film looked gorgeous in some aspects. The dialogues are in proverb and every scene a portent which makes the result beautiful yet tedious.
To sum up, the director has dressed the old fashioned family drama reprising for new generation.
