Let us get back to the topic now….

  1.   Always add a rubber sole

This is the most important thing to be considered if you want to maintain your sandals and heels for the long term. The soles of most expensive footwear are made of thin leather which tends to scrape away very soon. Therefore, it becomes very important to add a rubber sole to the footwear to avoid any kind of defects.

Always add a rubber sole or a protective heel cap. You may get those right from the store where you buy your footwear from or you can even ask the local cobbler to get them fitted.

  1.   Storage

Obviously! Storage does matter a lot as it can help you to maintain your sandals for a long time. Storing your footwear properly helps to prevent them from getting scratches and dents. It is always recommended to store your footwear in a box or a shoe bag.  You can also get organizers for your drawers to keep the pairs separated. 1.   Clean the leather often

You should always keep the leather clean by taking some leather cleaning lotion on a cotton ball and then clean your sandals thoroughly. Pat them dry once done with the cleaning.  To keep the smell away, put some silica gel packets in the drawer that you keep your footwear in. Also, let your footwear air dry before storing.

  1.   Keep away from direct sunlight

You should always remember to not place the sandals under harsh sunlight or wear them around on a rainy day. Direct sunlight on your footwear would result in the colour fading or the fabric getting spoilt.

  1.   Conditioner

If you own any sandals that are not made out of leather then you can apply some conditioner and clean them up with damp cotton.  Then dry them immediately in and you’ll find your footwear being all clean and shiny like a new one.

We hope these few tips help you in keeping your footwear bright as a new one. If you have any more suggestions apart from this, then do let me know too and I’ll surely try them out.
